The state force of Uttar Pradesh, also referred to as UP Police came into existence in 1861. This police force is considered to be one of the largest in the world under single command. The UP Police Head Quarters are located in Allahabad. There are many wings and units of Uttar Pradesh Police. There are eight police zones in the state. An Inspector General of Police heads every zone who is an Indian Police Officer. Total eighteen police ranges are available in UP State. Eligibility Criteria
